ArtMatic Voyager creates 3D landscapes with exquisite realism and detail. It invites you to create, explore and discover entire planets much larger than our own. Using new non-polygonal techniques for rendering, ArtMatic Voyager is both powerful and easy to use. Illustrators, filmmakers and graphic designers in need of landscape backgrounds and realistic or fantastic scenery will love ArtMatic Voyager.

Detail so exquisite you may feel the heat coming off a glowing lava flow or the chill of a lonely icy plateau.

Besides its practical uses, ArtMatic Voyager provides sheer pleasure as you travel and explore virtual worlds bigger than our own Earth.

The Voyager library. ArtMatic Voyager comes with a large collection of professional-quality starter systems. You can use any of the over 400 ArtMatic elements (planet surfaces, color textures, artifacts, cities, cloud systems, backdrops and atmospheres) provided with ArtMatic Voyager to expand on the possibilities of the built-in planets. These elements can be used on their own or in limitless combinations. Any built-in planet can be combined with up to 6 ArtMatic surfaces at once. ArtMatic Pro NOT required.

Never-ending variety. For those who want to build their own worlds and textures from scratch, ArtMatic Pro can be used to design new planets OR to add elements to the built-in planets. The ArtMatic Pro/Voyager combination provides all the tools & primitives needed to create a never-ending variety of landscapes and worlds.

Below are highlights of ArtMatic Voyager 1.6 and later. Version 1.8 has been released to address Snow Leopard Compatibility issues. For an illustrated guide, download the New Features Guide. Be sure to check out Eric's Possible Cities series and the new Favorites gallery to see the new features at work. The possibilities are breathtaking.

Version 1.8 requires OS X.4 or later.

Quick List:
  • Universal Binary and Quad-processor enabled. Rendering times an be less than 1/20th of what they were in version 1.2 on an Intel-Mac.
  • TIFF output. Still images are now saved as TIFF images rather than in PICT format.
  • Multi-processor optimization. New quad-threaded rendering significantly decreases rendering times on multi-core computers. On Intel-Macs, times may be less than 1/20th of what they were in version 1.2.
  • Architecture and Vegetation support added. Architectural details (such as cities, roads and buildings) and some vegetation details are now possible via some new ArtMatic 4.6 new components.
  • Speed optimizations. Rendering speed is much faster in the high-quality modes and when casting shadows. Casting shadows can now be several times faster than before.
  • Sublime Quality. New Sublime Quality mode for improved rendering of ArtMatic-based elements that have sharp edges.
  • Anti-Alias control. A new option for super-high-res anti-aliasing for demanding renders.
  • New texture and reflection options. Extra ArtMatic outputs can now be mapped to Normal (for bump shading) and Reflections (for creating window reflections).
  • Maximum picture size now 10240 by 10240 pixels
  • And much more. See the New Features Guide for a complete list.

ArtMatic Voyager is capable of creating stunning video at resolutions exceeding hi-def. The examples on this page only hint at the range and quality of the animation that you can create. In order to keep download times reasonable, these examples are all compressed and size-limited. When you render video, every single frame is as high-resolution and pristine as the still images that ArtMatic Voyager creates.
